6/17/08 Tournament changes by Bruce Weinstein

In order to keep our tournament standings on our website up to date, all tournament entries must be called in or emailed within 48 hours of weigh-in  to our "TOURNAMENT WEBMASTER" John Kennedy. You can call  John at 789-2025 or email him at both  JWK62@hotmail.com AND jwkennedy@washtrust.com. John prefers to be emailed at BOTH email addresses. If you don't see your tournament entry on the website within  a reasonable time, (say 24-48 hours) then call  John,  or call me at  401-255-9630 or email me at bruceweinstein@cox.net  or call the tournamnet chairman Mike Lanni  at 932-1876. We need all members to help keep our website  accurate.

Narransett Surfcastesr first annual cookout will be held  at  Allen’s Harbor Pavilion in North Kingstown, Sunday June 22^nd  12 noon  to 6 pm Adults $10 kids under 14 free. . Dogs & burgers, Casting contest, fishing, horseshoes, swimming a great day planned.  The 2008 RI regulations have been updated on the website. Also , the  new tournament affidavit can be downloaded from the top of the new 2008 tournament page. Over the years members have created many memorial tournament awards permanently recognizing various member anglers. We've  done our best to include these memorials correctly in our 2008 tournament leader board but we urge all members to look it over and let me know of any corrections that need to be be made. The tournament committee met on April 8th and voted in three changes to our tournament rules . The changes have not been permanently written into the bylaws yet, but will be soon. Here's a short summary  of the changes. (1) A fish can  be weighed into ONLY ONE tournament category. That means that no fish can take more than one trophy. (2) All weights must be in pounds using two decimal places. This replaces using "pounds and ounces". (3) Tuna will be measured by fork length, minimum 28". This replaces tuna being measured by the weight. The tournament commitee members present at the meeting were Marty Wencek, Mike  Lanni, Bob Andrade and Bruce Weinstein.  at the Narragansett Pier public Libray,  35 Kingston Road (between Caswell street and Boon Street) at 7:00 pm. PLEASE REMIND  FELLOW MEMBERS OF THIS CHANGE!
